Japan Pledges 100 Million USD Support to EthiopiaAugust 28, 2017 - The government of Japan pledged 100 million USD assistance to support road development in Ethiopia, Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Kono announced during his visit to Ethiopia. The assistance will be used to finance the upgrading of the Addis Ababa - Chida road. The Minister said that Japan will continue its support to Ethiopia's development endeavors in a sustained manner through Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA). He also explained that the continued efforts of encouraging Japanese companies to invest in Ethiopia will be further consolidated. Ethiopia's Foreign Minister Workineh Gebeyehu for his part urged the need to further enhance the existing ties between Ethiopia and Japan.
