Over the past 50 years, my firm, FundX, has refined an opportunistic system of identifying what's working in the current market environment and staying with it. We screen funds and ETFs and build diversified risk-adjusted portfolios based on returns over 1, 3, 6 and 12 months. The funds are classified by risk; then in a system we call Upgrading, we buy top-ranked funds and sell laggards. Based on this model we recently purchased Vanguard International Growth (VWIGX) and Vanguard Euro Index (VEURX).
