J amie Carragher bid a hasty retreat in his opinion of Moises Caicedo’s £110million transfer fee after it emerged the midfielder had rejected Liverpool in favour of Chelsea. Jurgen Klopp confirmed on Friday reports that the Reds had agreed a club-record deal to land the Ecuadorian from Brighton. Chelsea have seen numerous offers rejected by the Seagulls in their pursuit of Caicedo, who has attempted to force through the switch to west London in recent weeks. However, multiple reports have since emerged of the 21-year-old rejecting Liverpool in the hope of signing for the Blues - while they formulate a new bid to convince Brighton to sell up. He tweeted: “£110M is a big price for Caicedo but Liverpool had to pay big as clubs knew they were desperate.
