more-inHundreds of students from Jamia Millia Islamia protested outside the Proctor’s office on Friday after an event scheduled to be held on Thursday was allegedly disrupted and students assaulted by the proctorial staff. The Dayar-I-Shauq Students’ Charter had planned to host a cultural evening near the university’s central canteen. It is alleged that security guards manhandled the students on the Proctor’s orders citing permission issues. V-C office gheraoedThe students gheraoed the Vice-Chancellor’s office on Friday and demanded his resignation. The students were assured by the Registrar after a day-long protest that their demands will be discussed.
