File photoDHAKA, Feb 13, 2026 (BSS)- Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Md Shafiqul Islam has unofficially secured victory in the Patuakhali-21 constituency in the 13th National Parliament election, according to preliminary results announced on Tuesday. Islam received a total of 100,750 votes, defeating his closest rival, Md Shahidul Islam Talukder of BNP, who garnered 72,676 votes. The results were formally announced by Akhtar Ahmed, Senior Secretary of the Election Commission during a press briefing at the results collection and presentation center at the Agargaon Election Building in Dhaka.
