PETALING JAYA: Workers at Menara Multi Purpose were forced to go home after Jalan Munshi Abdullah, Kuala Lumpur, was hit by a power outage Monday. A notice posted at the entrance of the 40-storey building said that the "power supply was disrupted after the Dang Wangi power station had caught fire". The Fire and Rescue Department confirmed that there was fire at the Tenaga National Bhd (TNB) substation near Capital Square, Jalan Munshi Abdullah, at 1am. "After waiting for five hours, our bosses told us to go home as the building management was unable to restore power," he said. Attempts to get TNB and the Menara Multi Purpose management for comments have been unsuccessful.
