The Padres signed Arrieta to add depth to their injury-plagued rotation. “We need quality innings, we need pitches, we need an opportunity to win games,” Tingler said. “A great opportunity to pitch, to pitch well, and pitch for a winning team. “If he was throwing the ball really dominant we would have never had this opportunity,” Tingler said.
