While Padmaavat dominated JLF, with almost every panel backing the film's release, loud voices on the streets called for the opposite. In 2014, members of the then far less known Karni Sena had shouted slogans against Ekta Kapoor, alleging that Rajput community was shown in bad light in her TV show Jodha Akbar. Karni Sena's Kalvi showed a clip of a Pune resident slamming Padmaavat after watching the film. But there was no place for the queen in Raj Mandir or in the many cinemas of Jaipur. While JLF celebrated the creme de la creme of creativity, the streets declared the end of imagination.
