By Jack EtkinForbes.comThanks to a memorably successful homestand, the Rockies have vaulted into the forefront of the National League wild-card race. Their weekend sweep of the Blue Jays concluded a 9-1 homestand of the season and tied the franchise record for wins on a 10-game homestand. The Rockies took advantage of the schedule on their longest homestand of the season. But the Rockies were 4 ½ games behind and in sixth place in the chase for the second wild-card spot when they came home after a 3-5 road trip. Winning nine of 10 games has left Colorado a half game behind the Braves and Cubs, who are tied for the second wild-card berth.
