They also submitted a memorandum to JU Vice-Chancellor Professor Farzana Islam in this connection. "The university administration had assured us of holding the Jahangirnagar University Central Students' Union (Jucsu) polls after the national election but we are yet to see any progress in this regard," said Ashikur Rahman, president of Jahangirnagar Cultural Alliance. Later, VC Professor Farzana Islam assured the students of holding the Jucsu polls within this year. The movement cames as Dhaka University is gearing up to hold election to its central students’ union (Ducsu) in March.
