Nonprimary parents will continue to have access to a lesser amount of paid leave, currently six weeks. We need men speaking up for gender equity and family’s rights, especially when it comes to paid parental leave. Yet, as the only industrialized nation without a paid leave policy, we often take the approach that "something is better than nothing" when it comes to paid family leave. Sweetgreen recently announced five months of paid parental leave for all full-time and part-time (yes!) In fact, in PL+US’ latest scorecard of top employers on parental leave policies, 72% of surveyed companies provide paid leave equally to moms, dads, and adoptive parents.
