The split in Janata Dal United is wide open as the party has suspended 21 leaders, including a former minister, from primary membership of the party. JDU Bihar state president Vashistha Narayan Singh said 21 party members have been suspended from the primary membership over anti-party activities. The move comes a couple of days after senior JDU leader Sharad Yadav was removed as party's leader in Rajya Sabha.
