Goodwill Ambassador for the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) Miyavi is making his first visit to Bangladesh, where he will be meeting the Rohingya refugees in Cox’s Bazar. During his visit, Miyavi will travel to Cox’s Bazar to visit the main settlement area housing Rohingya refugees, who have entered Bangladesh fleeing the violence in Myanmar. The Japanese will meet refugees and see the assistance that UNHCR, along with it partners, has been providing, working closely in support of the Government of Bangladesh. “This is my first opportunity to see UNHCR’s work in an ongoing emergency setting and I am keen to learn more about some of the challenges”, Miyavi said. Last year, he went to Thailand, to meet Karen refugees from Myanmar.
