Oamaru and Waimate police, with the support of Dunedin’s armed offenders squad, executed search warrants on two Oamaru properties yesterday and recovered a quantity of stolen property believed to have been taken in burglaries in Oamaru and Waimate. Sergeant Kevin Reynolds, of Waimate, said about 10 officers were involved in the searches. Sgt Reynolds would not specify how much property was recovered, but said some of it was household related. He said no arrests had been made, but police were expecting to talk to several suspects.
