Co-ordinator of the Latin by the Lakes event Mike Hill, of Ashburton, said some made the journey from Christchurch as part of the biennial tour. The event had been running since 1995 and involved trips which either had a lake at their final destination, or along the way. The cars ranged from a 1919 Lancia Kappa to a 2013 Ferrari 458 Italia.
