The forecast for Aoraki/Mt Cook predicts “storm slab problems” remaining, and warns of a “loose wet avalanche problem increasing when the sun comes up and the temperature increases”. Daisley added, “the next few months will be the peak season for mountaineers, and for trampers, we are only about 6 weeks away from Great Walk season.”
