According to Mikki, the only time he will begin to understand and appreciate why the situation is so is when he travels to Jamaica and learns that their top musicians sing highlife songs. He bemoaned the lack of promotion for Ghanaian music and culture and blamed industry players for not supporting the music industry to thrive. The national problem being that we don’t understand our culture, we don’t even know we have a culture for us to even teach the next generation, we don’t know. We don’t know our heritage, that is one of the major problems we have in this country.
