It’s easy to be skeptical when the pitching ranks are thinning and the Blue Jays have yet to make a major move

The market for free-agent pitchers has started to move and the Blue Jays are at risk of being left without a seat at the head table. The Blue Jays were never considered a realistic fit for Hamels, but they had genuine interest in Wheeler. This market has grown tired of hearing the Jays were close to adding someone who signed elsewhere. The Twins are another contender looking for pitching and they have flexibility after Gibson and right-hander Michael Pineda hit free agency. None of this is to say the Jays aren’t going to add pitching, They clearly are, regardless of what happens with Ryu and Keuchel.
