'It’s been the best year ever': Ancaster to compete at Canadian Little League Championships in Calgary

Win or lose, it’s already been a historic year for Ancaster Little League. For the first time in the organization’s more than 60-year history, the Ancaster Diamondbacks have won their way to the Canadian Little League Championships, from Aug. 4 to 12 in Calgary. While Ancaster competed in the Canadian Little League Championships as a host team in 2010 and 2019, 2022 marks the first time the organization has qualified for the tournament as a provincial champion. In addition to the Major team’s success, Ancaster Little League president Ryan Hall said the Minor team, comprised mainly of 10-year-olds, also won their district and qualified for the provincial championships in Windsor. Ancaster’s best-ever result at a Canadian Little League Championship was 2010 when its Major team finished as the runner-up.
