After almost six decades on the drawing board, the 7.11-kilometer Katipunan Avenue extension project will finally push through. ADVERTISEMENTThe Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System recently signed a memorandum of agreement to proceed with the road extension project. Public Works Secretary Mark A. Villar signed on behalf of DPWH, while Administrator Rey Velasco signed for MWSS. Velasco said the road project suffered delays due to right-of-way problems. Villar revived the road extension project, which has been in the doldrums for 58 years, to address the worsening traffic congestion in Metro Manila, particularly along Katipunan Ave. and Commonwealth Ave., both in Quezon City.
