To stop people from entering and exiting Dhaka and Narayanganj, both the administrations have taken strict steps. Narayanganj district administration is urging the administration of neighbouring districts to help control the situation, while Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) is emphasizing on the importance of public awareness, along with enforcing the law. NarayanganjSalim Reza, additional deputy commissioner (revenue) of Narayanganj said: "We are restricting entry and exit of everyone except emergency services at all checkpoints. Both Dhaka and Narayanganj have borders with Gazipur district. "It seems impossible to achieve zero movement between districts if all the community leaders and the public do not come forward to stop people’s movement," he added.
