Islamic State releases purported new audio message from top leader vowing to continue fight


Mosul was liberated from Islamic State extremists in July after a months-long operation by Iraqi forces, backed by U.S.-led coalition. Much controversy surrounds the shadowy cleric who has been running Islamic State since the terror group emerged from Al Qaeda in Iraq. Islamic State has suffered a number of major setbacks in Iraq and Syria in recent months. He also cited as a sign of continuing effectiveness of the militant group attacks claimed by Islamic State in Europe, the United States and elsewhere. The L.A. city controller has recommended using city land for emergency campgrounds for the homeless.
