Is This Buzz Aldrin-Inspired Locomotive The Future Of Space Travel?

Last summer Charles Bombardier unveiled the Solar Express—an imagined vehicle that would ferry cargo and passengers from Earth to Mars in less than two days. Formulated in conjunction with fellow engineers Rebecca Farr and Oliver Peraldi, Bombardier’s Cycler features a trio of inflatable B330 modules designed by Bigelow Aerospace. And Aldrin’s craft would allow passengers to experience artificial gravity on board, while the newer concept would showcase weightlessness. The payload transfer would take place in GTO at an altitude of 21.75 miles and require 30 minutes. When the Cycler exits Earth’s orbit, it would be moving at a constant speed of 4,971 mph.
