Iranian and American freed in apparent prisoner swap

Donald Trump has thanked Iran for releasing an American research student as part of a prisoner swap and also took a shot at Barack Obama by noting he was taken under his administration. Chinese-American Xiyue Wang, 38, who was detained in Iran for three years on spying charges has been freed and an imprisoned Iranian was also released by Washington on Saturday. Soleimani, an Iranian scientist, was expected to be released as early as January under a plea agreement. He added 'we will not rest until we bring every American detained in Iran and around the world back home.' Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, (left), tweeted that he was glad Iranian scientist Massoud Soleimani, (right), was freed by U.S. authorities.
