(Photo: Reuters)Iran has rejected a peace plan proposed by US President Donald Trump to end the Middle East war, state television reported on Wednesday. “Iran has responded negatively to an American proposal aimed at ending the ongoing imposed war,” the English-language broadcaster Press TV quoted an unidentified official as saying on Wednesday. Iran is focused on achieving its objectives and only if those are met will an end to the war — not a ceasefire — be possible, Fars added. Trump has publicly signalled any peace agreement would have to include a prohibition on Iran ever obtaining a nuclear weapon or enriching radioactive material for civilian purposes. Yet, Iran’s growing control over Hormuz has been emphasised by it starting to charge transit fees for some commercial vessels.
