During the meeting, the Tower Hamlet Speaker termed Bangladesh a role model of development, saying the country is progressing as peace and stability prevails here. He said Bangladeshi expatriates in Britain, particularly the third generation, are very keen to invest in Bangladesh. Ayas Miah assured that the support of expatriates for the development of Bangladesh will continue. The Tower Hamlet Council Speaker informed the prime minister that a street in London will be renamed after late Syed Ashraful Islam. At the meeting, a special plaque was presented to the prime minister on behalf of the Centre for Non-resident Bangladeshis.
