Invasion of National Assembly illegal ― Adegboruwa

LAGOS based lawyer and human rights activist, Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa, Esq., has condemned the invasion of the National assembly on Tuesday by officials of the Directorate of State Service (DSS) as illegal and constitutional, commending Acting President Yemi Osinbajo for taken quick steps to ensure that the situation did not degenerate. He explained that the DSS belongs to the executive arm of government and has no constitutional powers to invade the assembly. “The DSS and the police are all part of the Executive arm of government and it is totally unconstitutional for the DSS to have invaded the premises of the National Assembly in such commando fashion as if we are under military rule. “I salute the courage of the people of Nigeria, especially members of the National Assembly, for their vigilance and courageous actions, to save our democracy. Thus, it is expected that the Nigerian government will henceforth assign more roles for women, in order to make them part and parcel of governance,” Adegboruwa concluded.
