An intruder entered the highly secured Joint Base Andrews that houses the presidential plane, Air Force One, and access an aircraft used by US Vice President and other top officials. Following the incident, the US Air Force announced on Friday that it will conduct a global security review. “I think everybody’s taking this very seriously, and the acting secretary of the Air Force and the Air Force chief of staff are going to order the Air Force inspector general to fully investigate this issue,” Pentagon press secretary John Kirby told reporters on Friday. The Air Force’s inspector general will conduct an investigation into the break-in, the Air Force said in its statement. “The security of our installation is paramount,” said Col Roy Oberhaus, a commander at Joint Base Andrews in a statement.
