Theatre puppeteer and former artistic director of Capital E’s National Theatre for Children, Lyndon Peter Wilson, has died aged 77. While there, he developed a reputation for innovation, melding dance, drama and music into the puppet theatre medium, and helping support art forms like rod puppets and black theatre. In 1981, alongside Cathryn Robinson and Beverly Campbell-Jackson, Wilson established Spare Parts Puppet Theatre in Fremantle, near Perth in Western Australia. “No man is a prophet in his own land is a phrase I think fits well with Peter,” Wales said. SUPPLIED Wilson was the artistic director of Capital E’s National Theatre for Children.
