CALDWELL, LACONIA DAILY SUNMEREDITH — The proposed 2018-19 operating budget for the Inter-Lakes School District is $20,740,415, an increase of $718,562, or 2.87 percent, from the current-year budget. The Inter-Lakes School Board voted on Tuesday to forward that number to the voters for a decision at the School District Meeting on Wednesday, March 7, at 7 p.m. in the Robert F. Pottle Memorial Gymnasium at Inter-Lakes Junior-Senior High School. The third year of a 13-year Honeywell lease for energy efficiency and security at Inter-Lakes Elementary School brings a cost of $523,922. The School Board decided to postpone several projects identified in the district’s capital improvement plan in order to offset some of those increases. New staff positions include an early childhood special education teacher, a Grade 5-6 teacher, a high school special education teacher, and a student support center for students in kindergarten through Grade 3.
