Finally, Sheikh Zahid, 50, of Khulna saw the light of the day outside the condemned cell inside the jail. Zahid was released from Khulna District Jail at 6:25pm on Monday. However, Sheikh Zahid does not want to blame or punish anyone for wasting 20 precious years of his life without being guilty. Khulna District Jail Superintendent Mohammad Omar Faruk confirmed that Sheikh Zahid was released in the evening after receiving the court order. After his release, Sheikh Zahid said that he prayed for death every moment of every day inside that condemned cell.
