In countries like the US, Australia, and the United Kingdom, people know it as ‘granulated sugar.’ In Kenya it is white sugar because it has all the molasses refined out of it compared to brown sugar. If not, bake your cake for a few minutes more then poke again in a different spot with a different toothpick.
