Infra budget to boost PH’s global aviation market share – DBM 0 SHARES Share it! Share TweetBy Chino S. LeycoThe Department of Budget and Management (DBM) said yesterday that the national government will invest “heavily” in airports and other related projects next year to boost the country’s bid to be a major global aviation market player. The budget chief said they want the Philippines to become a major global aviation market player by 2022 as emerging economies are expected to surpass advanced economies in terms of passenger traffic after three-years. By 2040, passenger traffic is seen to reach 13.5 billion, or 61.6 percent of the total global passenger traffic. Diokno also noted that seven of the 35 projects approved by the National Economic and Development Authority under the 75 infrastructure flagship projects are strategic airport projects aimed at spurring airport traffic growth in the countryside.
