India protests with Pakistan over harassment of two of its diplomats


New Delhi: India has lodged a protest with Pakistan over the harassment of two of its diplomats by Pakistani intelligence personnel last month. The incident of harassment of the two Indian diplomats took place on 17 April, the person said adding the two were locked up in a room for over 20 minutes at Gurdwara Sacha Sauda near Lahore. The Indian diplomats were at the gurdwara to help visiting Indian pilgrims were threatened and asked never come to the area again. Indian Sikh pilgrims routinely visit Pakistan given that a large number of Sikh shrines are scattered in Pakistan’s Punjab province. The two countries are currently engaged in discussions to facilitate the travel of Indian Sikh pilgrims to the Kartarpur Sahib gurudwara in Narowal district in Pakistan’s Punjab province.
