India garners widespread support on Pak-sponsored terror at Munich Security Conference


NEW DELHI: India received widespread support on the issue of Pak role in cross-border terror attacks including Pulwama strike at the Munich Security Conference and in various meetings on sidelines of the key annual meet in the German city.Deputy National Security Adviser Pankaj Saran attended the 55th Munich Security Conference (MSC) from February 15-17. "The attack was unequivocally condemned, and there was widespread support for India’s concerns over Pakistan sponsored terrorism on Indian soil," sources informed.At this edition of MSC Afghanistan was discussed in many contexts particularly withdrawal of US forces and also NATO.Other major area of focus at the MSC was China with the West gearing for strategic competition with China in area of high technology, ET has learnt. That is the next frontier of global rivalry.According to experts it is evident that Europe's main focus is on managing relations with Russia. The US's focus is on China even as confrontation with Russia is a given.It is also learnt that there was a lot of discussion at the MSC on global strategic stability. The general feeling was that the world is headed towards uncertain times and the existing order is undergoing major change.
