“As per revised guidelines, entry or exit restrictions have been removed on visas issued to Bangladesh nationals from 24 International Airports and Integrated Check Posts at Haridaspur and Gede,” the India High Commission in a statement on Monday. It means that people who have permission to travel from other land ports such as Agartala can use all airports and Haridaspur and Gede land ports without seeking prior permission for that. “The revised guidelines are aimed at further liberalising the movement of Bangladesh nationals to India in an effort to strengthen people-to-people contacts,” the High Commission said. To ease the movement of people and strengthen people-to-people, India has taken number of steps to ease visa process. Women are given priority access as IVAC Mirpur is kept open exclusively on Saturdays for women applicants and their immediate family members.
