A cargo vessel, shipping raw materials for cement, has sunk in the Pashur River in Mongla upazila. Mongla Port Harbour Master Commander Oli Ullah said a crack developed at the bottom of the “MV-Sheba” after loading 870 metric tonnes of raw materials from a foreign vessel. Later, the vessel sank when heading towards the bank of the river on Saturday night. The port authority asked the vessel owner to remove the cement raw materials from the river as soon as possible.
