Hawke's Bay cricket are calling on an independent commissioner to deal with a complaint after racial slurs were fired at an Auckland cricket team. An independent commissioner is being brought in to investigate complaints after a schoolboy cricket match was called off after racial vilification and other slurs. Chairman of Hawke's Bay Cricket Association, James Rainger​, said a meeting regarding the complaint was held on Monday night.
