PCJSS Vice-President Ushatan issued a rejoinder against Wednesday’s reports also carried by bdnews24.com that he joined the Awami League. He also said the report was published without his comments in order to “mislead people about the PCJSS leadership”. On Wednesday, bdnews24.com ran the report of Ushatan and 13 other independent MPs joining the Awami League after the ruling party's Organising Secretary Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury confirmed that the MPs agreed on the issue in a meeting. Later in the night, Ushatan's aide MR Hossain Zahir told bdnews24.com that the PCJSS leader was not in the meeting. Of the 16 independent MPs of the 10th parliament, most are Awami League leaders.
