Dunedin Multi-Ethnic Council president Dr Luxmanan Selvanesan said the awareness-raising week had been cancelled last year because of Covid-19 pandemic restrictions. The Christchurch mosque attacks had also disrupted the previous event. Most events had been well attended, and were helping raise community awareness of race relations issues and were celebrating "inclusive diversity", he said yesterday.
