IG news Update,When it comes to living on James Street North in Hamilton, Canadian Individual Slam Poetry Champion Eddie Larty says, “Even ghosts can no longer rest in peace.”Those words were part of their live performance at CBC Hamilton’s studio during the Supercrawl festival on Saturday, September 10. Watch the video above for his take on gentrification in Hamilton and the street where most of the famous arts festival was hosted. Back in May, Larty won the Canadian Individual Slam Poetry Contest in Vancouver, beating 16 other poets from across the country. The competition is a hybrid, spoken-word poetry competition held in Vancouver, BC Larte is also part of Hamilton U Poets (HYP), a local organization that creates programming in Hamilton to connect with poets in the community.
