Bharatiya Janata Party chief Amit Shah on Wednesday said the party has accepted the results of the recently-concluded assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan. He also downplayed the connection being made between the state elections and the impending 2019 Lok Sabha elections. “The results in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh are definitely not favourable for the BJP, but it is not right to link them with the 2019 Lok Sabha polls. State polls can’t be linked to Lok Sabha poll results; both elections are fought on separate issues. We accept the people’s mandate (in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh); we will introspect on the poll results,” Amit Shah said at Republic Summit in Mumbai.
