(Source: PTI)Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal Monday directed the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) to figure out a plan for “migration to 100 per cent mechanisation for cleaning of sewer/drains within 15 days”. He also asked DJB to lay down, within a week, the standard operating procedure (SOP) for emergency manual cleaning. “The ultimate goal must be to ensure complete mechanisation of cleaning of all drains/sewers, including the narrowest of them, deploying modern methods. Baijal also directed Delhi Police to take action against “contractors who violate the law”.
