Well, Argentina legend Gabriel Batistuta begged a doctor to amputate his legs due to the unbearable pain he felt after retiring from football in 2005. Batistuta wet the bed as he was unable to face the pain of walking to the bathroom. Reggie Williams, a former record-setting linebacker for the Cincinnati Bengals said he had two dozen knee operations following his 13-year NFL career. Other sports icons to suffer from post career injuries are sprints and long jump legend Carl Lewis, Diego Maradona and Brazilian Pele who is now confined in a wheelchair.
