Of the total number of vehicles registered at Tardeo, 963 were bikes and 430 cars, whereas 913 bikes and 224 cars were registered at the Wadala RTO. Vehicle registration has seen a spike of 10% more than usual, ahead of Gudi Padwa celebrations, said RTO sources. The number of cars and bikes registered at Andheri and Borivli RTOs was not available, but sources there said the registration of cars and bikes had seen a surge here too. To facilitate registration of vehicles before Gudi Padwa, the motor vehicle department has kept RTO offices open on Saturday and Sunday.
