Imran forms high-level commission to probe 10-year corruption

In his post-budget address on Tuesday, Prime Minister Imran Khan announced to form a high-level commission to investigate corruption over the last 10 years that led the country into a massive debt trap. The prime minister who was supposed to address 9:30pm came live on television at midnight for the speech. Interestingly, the prime minister speech revolved around corruption allegations against the opposition, sparing only a few moments for the ‘austerity budget’. The new commission, that will probe the massive debt Pakistan owes to the international money lenders, comprises the Federal Investigation Agency, Security and Exchange Commission of Pakistan, Inter-Service Intelligence among others. The prime minister said the two political parties entered into an alliance and kept bringing a chairman of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) of their own choice.
