Writes letter to chief secretary seeking permissionLAHORE: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s personal physician Dr Adnan Khan has requested the Punjab government to allow him to conduct regular check-ups of his patient given his deteriorating health condition. Dr Adnan, who examined Nawaz on Monday, revealed that his patient was having class III to IV angina, whereas his breathlessness had worsened due to uncontrolled blood pressure and blood sugar. In the letter written to the chief secretary, Dr Adnan thanked the government for granting the permission to meet Nawaz on Monday. He stated that Nawaz required constant attention which could not be satisfactorily and sufficiently given in incarceration; therefore, “it is imperative and imminent to consult and review him on a regular basis”. On June 8, Dr Adnan took to social media to express his concerns with prescription of drugs by doctors of Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC).
