The shadow immigration minister, Shayne Neumann, said it showed the immigration minister, Peter Dutton, was mismanaging his department. There are some risks associated with not proceeding these FOI requests. The immigration department has faced several investigations into the handling of information requests. “The commissioner monitors FOI processing within Australian government agencies and will conduct investigations when appropriate.”
