LOS ANGELES — A man has been released from immigration detention in California six months after he was detained by deportation agents shortly after dropping off his daughter at school. The Los Angeles Times reports (http://lat.ms/2xNYbLW ) that 49-year-old Romulo Avelica-Gonzalez was freed after a judge at an Adelanto detention centre granted him $6,000 bond late Wednesday. The Mexican father of four has lived in this country more than two decades and lacks legal status.
