Illegal Establishments to be Evicted

Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk) is in the process of making a list of all unauthorised establishments in Dhaka, thus far they have identified 1,625 illegal organisations. In response to a query, the Minister said “We do not have any shortage of commercial areas in Dhaka. The ministry plans to cancel the trade licenses and cut off utility facilities of the establishments once they are all identified. In the wake of the Gulshan attack the government will take action against illegal advertisement installations in residential areas, as confirmed by Housing and Public Works Minister Mosharraf Hossain at a press briefing on Sunday,“We have already warned the 269 owners of the illegal organisations to move out, if they don't comply they will be evicted by Rajuk,” the Minister said. There is plenty of space at many commercial buildings.
